Job description
**Pay:** $32-$35 per hour (USD). **Job Title:** Japanese Language Expert **Job Type:** Contractor **Location:** Remote **Job Summary:** In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Review and correct machine-generated Japanese transcriptions for accuracy and naturalness. 2. Record high-quality short audio clips (approx. 10 seconds per clip) based on provided transcriptions using your laptop microphone. 3. Ensure a quiet and distraction-free environment while recording to maintain audio clarity. 4. Deliver clear, accurate, and expressive verbal recordings adhering to project guidelines. 5. Collaborate with customer’s team of transcriptionists and audio recording experts to maintain consistency and quality. 6. Provide detailed feedback on language nuances, pronunciation, and context for ongoing improvement of AI models. 7. Participate in quality control processes to validate data integrity and project success. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** 1. Native-level fluency in Japanese, with deep understanding of regional and cultural nuances. 2. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Japanese. 3. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to spot transcription errors accurately. 4. Comfort recording your own voice using standard laptop microphones; no specialized audio equipment needed. 5. Reliable access to a quiet recording environment. 6. Ability to manage repetitive tasks with high quality output. 7. Self-motivated and collaborative, able to work independently within a distributed team. **Preferred Qualifications:** 1. Previous experience in transcription, audio recording, linguistics, or localization projects. 2. Familiarity with AI data annotation or speech recognition software. 3. Experience working with diverse teams or contributing to language technology initiatives.
